Mary DeCarlo is a writer living in Queens with her husband and cat. Her fiction has been published in Bending Genres, HAD, Identity Theory, Gone Lawn, Rejection Letters, Variety Pack, and elsewhere. Her story "The Summer Before the Glitter Fell Out of My Eyes" was selected for Best Small Fictions. She is the recipient of the 2026 Dan I and Naomi Rodden Playwriting Award for her play "Echoes of a Hollow Body" which also received a reading at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, Alaska. Her play, "Magic Years", was a semifinalist for the Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival. She's a member resident of the Woodward Residency in Ridgewood, Queens and earned an MA in Text and Performance from RADA and Birkbeck University of London. She is currently working on a novel.
